Wuthering Heights -
To Travel for Evermore |
Denmark progressive power metallers Wuthering Heights finally return with the follow up to their killer debut, Within. With talented frontman Kristian Andren (ex-Tad Morose, Memento Mori) returning with drummer Morten Sorensen, main songwriter and musician Erik Ravn got some help from Zool guitarist Henrik Flyman and Italian bassist Lorenzo Deho. I was a big fan of Within but even after several listens of To Travel for Evermore, nothing about Wuthering Heights proves to be very memorable. There's still a symphonic, even a little folk, element to the music. To Travel for Evermore serves as the second instrallment of a Tolkien inspired concept which began with Within. The band gets a stellar production from Tommy Hansen, best known for his work with Helloween, but if there isn't much to draw the listener in with regards to songwriting, it's hard to appreciate.
