Guidelines for Posting Comments at TTM

At Transcending the Mundane, we welcome comments from fans on our reviews and editorials. Your views are important to us and a wide range of opinions provides a more valuable surfing experience for everyone.

With this privilege, however, comes certain responsibilities. General guidelines for posting comments are as follows:

1.) One Comment Per Fan on Album Reviews. Please do not try to post multiple comments on any given review. We do not allow spamming of reviews because it artificially increases the Liked It/Disliked It tallies in a manner that is undemocratic. You should, however, feel free to leave multiple comments on Editorials. The type of exchange that is common on Internet bulletin boards is encouraged in the Editorials area.

2.) Address the Topic at Hand. Your comments should focus on either the album being reviewed or the topic being addressed in the editorial. If you've got something else on your mind, find another forum that is relevant to your concerns.

3.) Be Polite. We do not allow personal attacks, either of reviewers or fellow fans. Feel free to be as critical of others' views as you want, but ad hominem attacks on people are not welcome.

4.) Refrain from Using Foul Language Where Possible. Yeah, we know it's the 21st Century, but gratuitous obscene language adds nothing to a comment and might be inappropriate for some of our younger browsers. Passion is fine - just show a bit of restraint in your choice of words.

These guidelines are enforced through the back-end of our website. We try to show the same restraint in editing/deleting comments, however, that we ask of you in posting them.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to hearing your voice at Transcending the Mundane!
