Our primary focus here at Transcending the Mundane is providing you -- the reader -- with high quality reviews of newly-released Heavy Metal albums. The reviews are confined to no specific genre; from Hard Rock to Power Metal to Black Metal, every Metal fan will find something to suit his or her tastes. Transcending the Mundane reviews are written independently by dedicated Metal fans who strive to be honest, articulate, and objective in their writing. Heavy Metal is the art we love and is far too sophisticated to be rendered on a thumbs-up / thumbs down scale. Instead, we endeavor to give readers enough information to make their own decisions on an album's merits. Along with background information on the band and album, we give our humble opinion, and also let readers provide their own comments on an album. Perhaps best of all, we give you song samples so you can hear the album for yourself.
