Since I came into contact with Funeral Dust through Myspace.com (where my band has a site as well), I've become a big fan of his work. Hailing from Berwick, Pennsylvania, his music is keeping the true spirit of black metal alive. In conjunction with the review I did, here's an interview with Wulv, the main man behind Funeral Dust, playing everything but drums.
How's it going?
Working hard on the next split cd with Scatach doing some repairs on my amp and guitar to improve the recording quality and I’m also looking at some places to produce Funeral Dust Shirts.
What are you currently recording?
We just finished recording 4 tracks for Funeral Dust’s new album “Unholy Alliance” it’s a Split Cd with Temple of Azoth.
When should the Temple of Azoth split be ready and on what format(s) will it be released?
It will be available at the end of November - 2005 it will be on Cd although Voice of Azoth and I have been talking and there is someone from the Satanic Propaganda Organization that wants to Re-release it onto Tape.
When are you planning on releasing your next album? Funeral Dust - Scatach {Split Cd} will be released January 2006
What are your biggest influences and inspirations?
“Darkthrone, Burzum, Leviathan, Nokturnal Mortum, Sargeist, Limbonic Art, Carpathian Forest, Mayhem, Graveland, Satyricon and Immortal"
"The Night, The Forests and Mountains I Roam, The Full Moon, Wolves, Werewolves, Winter and Autumn Landscapes, Blizzards, Ancient Folklore & all the Black Metal Gods and Warlords that came before me!"
And my woman of Dark Desire Cristina.
Since you sampled out of Evil Dead several times and also wrote a song about the movie, what exactly do you find appealing about the movie?
Evil that lays dormant in the forests and ancient lands of old, and which is awoken by the darkness to corrupt are immortal souls to sufferer in the pits of hell forever.
And raping trees of course...

What are your thoughts about National Socialist Black Metal bands?
Even though I don’t really fall into all their views and whatnot,
I feel they it is the most True and Pure Source of Black Metal today.
What about the Pagan Front and other heathenistic organizations like it?
I do enjoy hear their views and relating them to myself... I’ve very influenced by some Eco-Fascists with their thoughts on society. But I try to keep my person views out of my music.
Though I do mix in ancient pagan and norsk folklore from time to time.
What does werewolves and lycanthropy mean to you?
That is to be what you are inside. The real you, To take what you want and not do that you feel.
To hunt, To Kill, To Feed But To Kill To Live...
Survival of the fittest and Natures Way... The weak must die to feed the Strong...
I’m very intrigued by Lycanthropy and Werewolves in are society and in ancient “myths”... I get very involved with it then the moon is full I hunt, run in the moonlight and feast on raw me. Some may consider it odd, But it seems like the most natural and normal thing to me.
My fiancé considers it normal now as well.
What are your thoughts about Nihilism and philosophy in general?
I do not know much about, But like other things I am very eager to learn.
I do not like or trust people in general, Except the very close. Although I don’t know if that is truly part or Nihilism or just being the nature of being Human.
